Northern New York will have the most variation when it comes to overall snowfall totals. Not only will a wintry mix play a roll in snow totals, but a down-sloping wind will impact snowfall as well. It’s 4 to 8 inches of snow for the St. Lawrence River Valley and over the higher peaks/summits of the Adirondacks in Essex county, New York (Mt. Marcy, Whiteface Mountain, etc.). It’s 2 to 4 inches for most everyone else in the North Country. The only exceptions being closer to the Champlain Valley and the Tri-Lake Region where a dusting to 2 inches along with a light glaze of icing will be likely.
