Family of Staten Island shooting victim seeks justice: ‘He had so much life to live, and so much love to give’

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Twenty-five-year-old Jesse Pimental was in the process of turning his life around.

On Friday afternoon, he had just wrapped up parole, for good. A half-hour later, he was gunned down in Tompkinsville, ending his young life and leaving his family completely devastated.

Pimental was shot in the torso outside of Key Food at Bay Street and Victory Boulevard, police said. The Oakwood man was immediately transported to Richmond University Medical Center, West Brighton, where he was pronounced dead…
