‘You’ve never been a forgotten borough’: Mayor Adams addresses Staten Island faith leaders

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Mayor Eric Adams made his way to Staten Island Monday evening for an “Evening of Faith” — one in a series of conversations he’s held throughout the five boroughs with community leaders, members of the clergy and faith-based organizations.

The event took place at the College of Staten Island’s Center for the Arts’ Williamson Theater in Willowbrook, and featured nearly a dozen representatives from city agencies.

Represented were the NYPD, Department of Education, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Buildings, Department of Finance, Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Department of Youth and Community Development, Department for the Aging, Department of Citywide Administrative Services, Office of Emergency Management and the Community Affairs Office of Faith-Based and Community Partnerships.

While each agency representative spent time answering questions, detailing issues they’re currently addressing, and what they’ve accomplished throughout the city, Adams appeared fashionably late, donning an NYPD cap to keep his bald head warm in the air-conditioned theater, he quipped…
