STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Two fluffy-tailed friends made a surprise daytime appearance at Gateway National Recreation Area’s Great Kills Park Tuesday.
The Advance/SILive.com spotted a red fox in the grass on the way into the park.
The curious fox was just the first critter spotted by the Advance/SILive.com: Just a mile up the road from the fox was a white-tailed deer, relaxing amongst some geese.
While seeing a red fox during daylight hours isn’t totally uncommon, they are classified as “mostly nocturnal” creatures by the New York City Wildlife website…
