BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) – The three men who removed a manhole cover and decided to explore the New York City sewer were looking for gold and other jewelry, the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office announced Wednesday.
On Monday, four individuals removed the manhole cover near 17th Avenue and 82nd Street in Bensonhurst. Three males climbed inside the opening while a fourth person stayed above ground, authorities said.
