Staten Island woman rescues cat stuck on Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge roadway

Two Grymes Hill residents driving on the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge earlier this month heroically sprang into action to save a cat stranded on the span.

Amanda Ruiz and her boyfriend, Derick McClinton, both 32, were headed into Brooklyn on the lower level of the bridge around 4 p.m. on April 11 when the pair noticed the animal.
