In an effort to slow traffic, city installs 3 new speed humps on this Staten Island road

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Those drivers speeding in Westerleigh will need to slow down or risk damaging their vehicle.

The Department of Transportation recently installed three speed humps on Westcott Boulevard, a residential street in Westerleigh, in an effort to slow down traffic.

“A driver’s speed can mean the difference between life and death in a crash, so these speed humps will help protect everyone who shares our streets,” a DOT spokesperson said, explaining that the changes came after the the agency studied average vehicle speeds in the area…
