STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Staten Islanders are not immune to the economic turmoil impacting millions of Americans’ ability to pay their rent, with hundreds of borough residents evicted from their homes in recent months.
The Staten Island Advance/SILive.com analyzed residential eviction data from New York City’s Open Data portal to determine how many Staten Islanders have been evicted this year through April 28, the last date available at the time of the analysis.
