Accused of firing in crowded Staten Island deli, alleged gunman is back in court

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.— A Bronx man currently held on bail in connection with a shooting incident at a crowded deli was back in court this week.

Osvaldo Dejesus, 29, is facing a top count of attempted murder in connection with the Feb. 13 incident at 171 Broadway in West Brighton.

DeJesus, who pleaded not guilty to the charges, appeared Monday before Judge Alexander B. Jeong for a conference hearing. The proceedings were adjourned to May 29. The defendant’s attorney did not respond to a request for comment…
