A 97-year-old man was seriously injured Thursday afternoon after a fire broke out in a basement apartment in Jersey City, officials said.
Firefighters responded to a building in the 300 block of York Street shortly after 1:30 p.m., where they found flames coming from the lower-level unit, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office.
