Arson was latest act of domestic violence, D.A. says. Now, Staten Island man is headed to prison.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.— Charged in a series of domestic violence incidents, a 43-year-old defendant will be sentenced to five months in jail.

Carlos Cruz, of Barker Street in West Brighton, pleaded guilty Thursday to second-degree attempted arson in connection with an April 26 incident that unfolded at a woman’s home on Staten Island, court records show.

In exchange for his plea, Cruz is scheduled to be sentenced July 2 by Judge Lisa Grey to five months in jail, followed by five years post-release supervision…
