STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Nearly two weeks after a multi-car crash at the intersection of Wainwright Avenue and Drumgoole Road East in Eltingville sent two people to the hospital, traffic signals that were installed there months ago still remain covered and inactive.
The intersection, where cars from the Korean War Veterans Memorial Parkway meet local streets and traffic around the Eltingville Transit Center, currently only has all-way stop signs posted to control traffic.
Police were investigating whether one of the drivers involved in the crash did not stop at a stop sign at the busy intersection, a source with knowledge of the investigation previously told the Advance/SILive.com…
