These 10 speed cameras issued more than $2M in fines, nearly 41K tickets on Staten Island in just 3 months

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y — Ten speed cameras on Staten Island were responsible for generating more than $2 million and nearly 41,000 tickets in a roughly three-month span, according to new data from the city.

The cameras — part of a network of roughly 240 permanent and mobile speed cameras across the borough — issued 40,832 tickets between March 1 and May 27, the latest data from the New York City Department of Finance shows.

With a $50 fine per speeding ticket, that totals $2,041,600…
