Celebrating pride, inclusion on Staten Island after a more than six-decade parade ban was lifted

For the first time this year, the Pride Center of Staten Island was permitted to carry their banner in the borough’s St. Patrick’s Day parade.

“To finally march with our banner was just absolutely incredible. The good heartedness and the kindness of the folks that lined the street was amazing,” Larry Anderson, chairman of the board at the Pride Center of Staten Island, said. “I mean you wouldn’t have expected that if you didn’t know Staten Island”.
