STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — If you have spent any time outdoors during warm New York City evenings, you may have noticed more swirling lights, or fireflies.
Once the sun goes down across the five boroughs, residents have reported seeing an uptick in lightning bugs. Experts have told media outlets that certain weather conditions may be the reason we’re seeing more of these blinking winged insects.
