STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A 23-year-old West Brighton man was arrested Friday morning in connection with a fatal hit-and-run that left two people dead on a Brooklyn street, police said.
Juventino Anastacio Florentino, a resident of the 300 block of North Burgher Avenue, was taken into custody and charged by police just before 11:30 a.m. Friday in the confines of the North Shore’s 120th Precinct, according to a statement from the NYPD Deputy Commissioner of Public Information’s Office.
Just hours before the arrest — at 4:22 a.m. — police say they responded to a 911 call for a vehicle collision at the intersection of 52nd Street and Third Avenue in Brooklyn’s Sunset Park section.
