This classic Staten Island home with iconic turret commands the corner. | Then and Now

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The large 4,000-square-foot house at 400 St. Paul’s Ave., Stapleton, that was built in 1908-09 by architect Otto Loeffler still stands today.

With its distinctive turret and long-sloping property, it commands its place on the corner of Occident and St. Paul’s avenues.

This home was part of the initial development of the former Morningside Park property and was one of the largest estates in the Stapleton Heights-Grymes Hill neighborhood.
