A 36-year pizza legacy ends as a new pizzeria prepares to carry the torch

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A new pizzeria is gearing up to open shop in the recently vacated Classic Pizza, which occupied a Richmond Road storefront for nearly 40 years.

Classic Pizza served its final pies from their brick ovens on June 15, after dishing out slices to Staten Islanders for 36 years.
