NYPD: Off-duty officer charged with drunk driving on Staten Island

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — An NYPD officer was arrested early Friday morning on Staten Island for allegedly driving while intoxicated, according to a statement by the department.

Off-duty officer Conwayne Mitchell, 30, of Queens, was pulled over by police at about 4:35 a.m. in the 121st Precinct, which encompasses the West Shore and part of the North Shore, an NYPD spokesperson said.
