NY and MA residents to appear in court after eluding St. Albans police

ST. ALBANS, Vt. (ABC22/FOX44) – A New York and Massachusetts resident are due in court Monday after eluding police in a vehicle, crashing said vehicle and continuing on foot Sunday, August 24. Both were stopped on suspicions of drug activity.

Officers initially received a report about drug activity in the Town of Saint Albans. A vehicle “related to the initial complaint” was found, which is when police conducted a stop.

Authorities identified the driver, 24-year-old Jose Coiscou-Mercedes, from Staten Island, NY, and the passenger, 21-year-old Brandy Perez, from Springfield, MA. During the investigation, their vehicle reportedly fled from the stop.

The duo continued to elude police in their vehicle until they were “unable to maintain control”, crashing on Swanton Road. Coiscou-Mercedes and Perez then fled on foot, but were quickly apprehended…
