Police officer crashes into car pulled over on Belt Parkway shoulder: NYPD

BELT PARKWAY, N.Y. (PIX11) – A police officer crashed into a car pulled over on the shoulder of the Belt Parkway on Wednesday, according to the NYPD.

The crash happened on the westbound side of the road near Rockaway Parkway around 8:15 p.m. Police said a 2024 Chevrolet that was parked on the side of the road was hit by a 2016 Dodge marked police vehicle.

Both the police officer and the other driver were injured, according to authorities. Several videos from Citizen App show the police cruiser’s front bumper smashed in and smoking, while the officer and two others talk on the side of the road.

Fire officials said they were taken to a local hospital. It’s not clear if anyone will face charges in connection with the crash…
