BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) — An alleged hit-and-run driver was arrested after an NYPD officer died in a fiery crash on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway on Wednesday morning, police said Thursday.
Carlos Almanzar Toribio, 30, was busted Wednesday night and charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, operating an unregistered vehicle, and operating without a license plate, according to the NYPD.

The 30-year-old cop was riding a Yamaha R1 westbound on the BQE when he was struck by a box truck near the Atlantic Avenue exit at around 8:30 a.m., according to police. The black bike then crashed into a wall and burst into flames.
The officer was rushed to the hospital but could not be saved. He has not been identified as of Thursday…
