9/11 hero fights for benefits after being told he’s not sick enough

NEW YORK (PIX11)– A 9/11 first responder says he’s battling for benefits, he’s been told he is not sick enough to collect, and now he needs support.

Captain Bruce Hydock ran to help on September 11th. A 27-year FDNY EMS veteran, he spent weeks at Ground Zero helping others.

Now, 24 years later, the 54-year-old says he is fighting for his own life after two rare cancers, lung disease, and other illnesses.
