New sustainable farm vendor coming to Staten Island Mall Greenmarket

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Borough foodies can look forward to two upcoming apple festivals and a new farm vendor joining the Staten Island Greenmarket scene this fall.

The St. George Greenmarket will host its annual Apple Festival on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 10 a.m. to noon, followed by a second celebration at the Staten Island Mall Greenmarket on Saturday, Nov. 1, also from 10 a.m. to noon. Both events will feature apple samples, children’s activities and fall market offerings.

Beginning this weekend, Millbrook Beef & Dairy will join the Staten Island Mall Greenmarket, bringing beef, poultry, pork and cow’s milk cheeses to local shoppers. Their farm, as the name suggests, is located at 1348 CR-57 in Millbrook, N.Y.

The farm is operated by Brian and Keegan Donovan, whose relationship has deep agricultural roots. The couple met while working on neighboring farms and later married on the same farm where they first encountered each other. They now have two children.
