STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Fine Fare at 1689 Richmond Road has closed its doors, ending the brand-new 9,000-square-foot market’s brief run less than a year after its December 2024 Dongan Hills debut.
Management did not respond to a request for comment. When the store closed in November, shelves were emptied, and sources described a “fireside sale.”
The market aimed to serve residents from Todt Hill, Dongan Hills, and surrounding neighborhoods with an expansive produce department and a wide selection of culturally specific ingredients.
The market featured a 40-foot deli counter with house-made items such as rice balls, grilled chicken cutlets, potato croquettes, and roasted peppers, along with cold cuts and prepared salads.
