Thanks to a law passed in 2024, speed limits in the metropolitan area are set to be reduced by at least 20% of their current value.
Speed limits in 250 traffic zones throughout New York City will be reduced from 25 mph to 20 mph by the end of 2025, per the city’s Department of Transportation.
