Man, 90, dies, 6-year-old girl clinging to life after SI crash: NYPD

NEW SPRINGVILLE, Staten Island (PIX11) — A 90-year-old man died, and a 6-year-old girl is clinging to life after a two-car crash on Staten Island on Friday, police said.

An Audi SUV and a Honda HRV collided at the intersection of Forest Hill Road and Rockland Avenue in New Springville just before 10 a.m., according to the NYPD.

A 70-year-old woman was driving the Honda with two occupants, 90-year-old Gerardo Avila and a 6-year-old girl, police said. Avila died at the hospital, and the 70-year-old woman and child are in critical condition, as of Saturday morning.
