Sayreville man accused of trying to run over cops during wild police chase

EAST BRUNSWICK, N.J. – A Sayreville man is facing multiple attempted murder charges after authorities say he tried to run down several police officers and rammed his car into marked patrol vehicles during a violent confrontation that followed a traffic stop.

According to police, 32-year-old Rennard Roseburgh was charged with three counts of attempted murder, eight counts of aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and eluding. He was taken to the Middlesex County Jail pending a court appearance.

The incident began when Sayreville Police stopped Roseburgh for a traffic violation. Officials said he sped away from the stop, dragging an officer in the process, before escaping the scene. A warrant was issued for his arrest and East Brunswick Police were alerted…
