The City of Bayonne held a swearing in ceremony for 14 new police officers at City Hall yesterday, the first ceremony since Public Safety Director Robert Kubert became interim mayor at the beginning of the year.
“I really appreciate the opportunity to serve in this capacity,” Kubert said, also thanking former Mayor Jimmy Davis, now the Hudson County sheriff, and the city council for having supported the new recruits.
Kubert also said that the job of police officer “is not what it is on television,” adding that Bayonne Police Department “has prided itself on being a service organization” and urged the new officers “to serve with pride.”
