STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — TJ Maxx, the popular off-price retailer known for selling brand-name and designer merchandise at significant discounts, will open its fourth Staten Island store this summer, taking over a free-standing space on Staten Island Mall property in New Springville that formerly housed the Container Store.
According to a Mall representative, construction is already underway at the site, and a small crew was performing exterior work there on Tuesday. The Mall’s website also now includes space for TJ Maxx on its map but a rep from the brand’s parent company, TJX, would not yet confirm the opening.
Founded in 1977, TJ Maxx offers a range of apparel, home goods, beauty, and accessories. The brand has operated on Staten Island for decades, and currently maintains three locations in the borough: New Dorp, Port Richmond and Charleston.
