Snow cleanup operations underway across Staten Island

STATEN ISLAND, NY — Snow cleanup efforts continue throughout the borough this weekend, with the city Department of Sanitation conducting plowing and snow removal operations.

As of Saturday afternoon, DSNY workers were seen at the intersection of Watchogue Road and Woolley Avenue in Westerleigh, utilizing dump trucks and bulldozers to remove the snow and ice that accumulated throughout the prior weekend’s snowstorm. This has caused temporary road closures and disruptions to traffic flow.

Drivers in these areas should expect delays and consider alternate routes until the cleanup operation is complete.

Snow-covered streets persist in other areas of the island, such as New Springville, Rosebank and South Beach, with parking, driving and walking on the sidewalks remaining difficult…
