Coffee shop customers watched in disbelief as federal officials uncovered two sloths and a koala inside of a minivan outside a Long Island café last week, according to the New York Post and video shared by local animal rights activists Humane Long Island.
Larry Wallach, 67, who runs Sloth Encounters, was stopped in a black Honda Odyssey last Wednesday, Jan. 28 outside Karmic Grind on Birch Hill Road in Locust Valley, according to The Post. Authorities were reportedly acting on a tip that Wallach was moving exotic animals through Nassau County despite being banned from doing so, the outlet said.
