STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Though Winter Restaurant Week will technically come to a close in a few days, select restaurants will extend their discounted offerings especially since Mardi Gras is on the horizon and just a couple of weeks away.
With a nod to Staten Island dining spots and the borough’s best and most popular eateries and destinations, West Brighton author Andrew Ostrowski has has materialized his book “Tales of Bayberry Village” into solid form, with a slant towards Staten Island’s best restaurants and hotspots.
It centers around a hidden and fictitious Upstate New York village, perhaps akin to that of Scotland’s Brigadoon, which revels in traditional seasonal happenings.
“My book took 30 years to write,” says the author, “but now actually creating it in porcelain and just in time for Mardi Gras is the icing on the cake.”…
