EAST HARLEM, Manhattan (PIX11) – Over 300 apartments are coming to East Harlem for people making under $130,000 per year, city officials announced Wednesday.
The property, known as the Timbale Terrace, will be built on the site of an old NYPD parking lot on Park Avenue. Comptroller Mark Levine called the project “one of the two or three most difficult housing fights that we waged.”

Once built, Timbale Terrace have 84 units for people making between $30,000 and $50,000 per year, 71 units for people making between $50,000 and $80,000 per year, and another 88 homes for people making between $80,000 and $130,000 per year. It will include 97 homes for homeless New Yorkers with mental illness and substance use disorder.
