From ‘Shaolin’ to Cleveland: Staten Island’s Wu-Tang Clan nominated for Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Staten Island rap royalty Wu-Tang Clan has been named among the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s newest nominees, a class that also includes another first-time nominee, hip-hop icon Lauryn Hill.

The band joins 17 other nominees for the Class of 2026, including: Mariah Carey, Phil Collins, Iron Maiden, Oasis, Jeff Buckley, Billy Idol, INXS, Shakira, Pink, Melissa Etheridge, the Black Crowes, Shade, New Edition, Luther Vandross, Joy Division/New Order and Cyndi Lauper.

The nominations mark a milestone for both hip-hop acts, who became eligible for consideration 25 years after releasing their first commercial recordings…
