D.A.: Teens who drink at Staten Island St. Patrick’s Parade ‘will face consequences’; enforcement tightens

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — From an enhanced law enforcement presence to a social media campaign targeting teens, Staten Island officials have been at work devising a plan to curb underage drinking and intoxication at the 2026 St. Patrick’s Parade in West Brighton this Sunday.

“For Staten Islanders across the Island, St. Patrick’s Day is a treasured event that we come together and celebrate the contributions of Irish-Americans to our community, our city and our country,” District Attorney Michael E. McMahon told the Advance/SILive.com.

“It’s been sort of building for the last few years, but last year it really reached a crescendo when way too many young people got soused really early on and were along the parade exhibiting behavior that is totally unacceptable,” he added…
