MilkShake Factory Opening Another NJ Shop With Two More Planned

The milkshake has been around for well over a century, but it didn’t start out as the sweet dessert drink we know today. Back in the late 1800s, a “milkshake” was actually a creamy drink made with milk, eggs, and sometimes even whiskey—more like eggnog than a dessert. In the early 1900s, soda fountains started blending milk with flavored syrups and ice cream, and that’s when the milkshake we recognize today really took shape.

Once electric mixers came along in the 1910s and 1920s, they became quick and easy to make. By the 1950s, milkshakes were a classic diner treat, usually served with burgers and fries, and they’ve been a favorite ever since.

Speaking of Milkshakes, I found research on the history of the “Milkshake Factory.” The MilkShake Factory began as a small family-owned chocolate shop in Pittsburgh in 1914. Over time, the business became known not just for its homemade chocolates but also for thick, hand-spun milkshakes made with ice cream and sweet toppings.
