New Jersey earthquake: Fifth tremor in six months rattles area

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A minor earthquake rattled New Jersey Sunday night, marking the fifth time in six months the area experienced the phenomenon.

Rated at a 1.3-magnitude earthquake by the United States Geological Survey, the tremors were felt at 9:04 p.m. in the Califon and Lebanon areas of New Jersey.

According to Advance/SILive.com sister site, NJ.com, “Four other earthquakes occurred in the same general region of New Jersey during the past six months, including a magnitude 2.4 quake on Jan. 30 that was felt by dozens of people in Hunterdon, Morris and Somerset counties.”…
