Forest Ave. bars test new drink‑spiking prevention pilot during Staten Island St. Pat’s Parade

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — In an effort to reduce the risk of drink spiking during Staten Island St. Patrick’s Parade festivities, bars along Forest Avenue tested a new pilot program offering customers single‑use covers for their beverages.

In partnering with NightCapIt, a business that sells drink-spiking prevention products, state Sen. Jessica Scarcella-Spanton brought 1,500 single-use drink covers to six participating bars along the parade route.
