Staten Island priest has worked with famous singers; produces world premiere Lenten recording

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A Staten Island priest with expertise in music production and a history of working with celebrity singers has released a new album with the St. Joseph’s Seminary Schola Cantorum, titled “Heart of the World.”

The Rev. Stephen G. Challman, or “Father Steve,” as he’s affectionately known, is a priest at St. Ann’s R.C. Church, a long-established parish in Dongan Hills. He led a team of highly skilled technicians on the recording.

Father Steve was a production manager and technical director before he was ordained, and has continued to put those skills to use for the church…
