Standing at gas station, Staten Island congressional hopeful blames Iran conflict for pain at pump

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Following a jump in gas prices, Democratic congressional candidate Michael DeCillis and supporters gathered to express concerns regarding the conflict in Iran and the consequences New Yorkers are facing.

DeCillis held the press conference at the Shell Gasoline station at the intersection of Richmond Road and New Dorp Lane in New Dorp, where prices have reached $3.89 per gallon for regular with a credit card.

The price increases follow the conflict in Iran, which began on Feb. 28 and has disrupted oil supplies going through the Strait of Hormuz, as well as attacks near critical oil infrastructure…
