STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The Richmond County District Attorney’s Office hosted its 10th annual “Stand Up. Stop Bullying” Art & Essay Writing Contest closing ceremony this week at the College of Staten Island, drawing over 1,100 submissions from students across the borough.
About 300 students, parents and teachers gathered Tuesday evening alongside District Attorney Michael E. McMahon to recognize winners from 38 participating schools. Students from kindergarten through 12th grade competed in art and essay categories focused on the impacts of bullying.
The ceremony featured performances from the Susan Wagner High School Show Choir and the PS 22 Student Council.
