Bayonne Advances Two Tower Plus Hotel Plan at South Cove

The path has been cleared to bring a new hotel, two residential towers, and retail space to Bayonne as a new plan for the South Cove complex has been greenlit.

Bayonne’s Planning Board has officially approved an application for 1 LeFante Way that would reshape the surrounding neighborhood. The property falls within the Riverwalk at South Cove Redevelopment Plan and is owned by two entities called South Cove Development II LLC and South Cove Development III LLC.

The current application sought to relocate a previously approved hotel and banquet room, along with other related facilities, to be built near a closed Houlihan’s outpost. Designed by Hoboken-based MHS Architecture, the approved plan still calls for a 98,209-square-foot hotel, including 125 rooms, a lobby, a 19,639-square-foot banquet facility, and a 9,400-square-foot restaurant space.

The hotel building would also feature 9,520 square feet of retail space. The hospitality portion of the development would rise eight stories.

The residential component is notable for the area, as it includes two buildings that rise 300 feet each. A total of 696 residences are included in the pair of structures, along with 508 parking spaces and amenities for the buildings’ residents…
