Staten Island man accused in violent crime spree, spanning neighborhoods during morning commute

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Authorities allege that a 23-year-old man rampaged through the streets of Staten Island in a wild crime spree that stretched from Forest Avenue in Port Richmond to a major access road for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Expressway in Graniteville.

Yonny Camacho of Delafield Avenue in Randall Manor allegedly committed multiple crimes in less than an hour during the morning commute on April 3, according to the criminal complaint and police.

The criminal complaint alleges that Camacho assaulted and robbed victims, stole a car and then hit a pedestrian with the vehicle. Instead of stopping, he led police on a high-speed chase, crashed into parked cars and ran away before being arrested…
