Chicken wing chain exits Staten Island as final locations go dark

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Planet Wings’ remaining two Staten Island locations appear to have closed, marking the end of the wing chain’s presence in the borough.

Repeated outreach to the chain has resulted in no comment. Phone numbers at the two stores are disconnected and there’s been no activity in about three weeks at either location. An operator at the company’s Middletown, N.Y. headquarters confirmed the permanent closures over the phone on Thursday morning.

The shutterings affect locations at 474 Forest Ave. in West Brighton and 698 Arthur Kill Rd. in Eltingville, both of which had roughly 10-year runs…
