Man convicted in deli owner’s murder on Staten Island due in court; sentencing possible

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A Pennsylvania man convicted in the shooting death of a Staten Island deli owner is due in state Supreme Court, St. George, on Wednesday.

Hussein Adam, 25, of Bensalem, Pennsylvania, was found guilty by a jury last month of charges that included second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon in connection with the 2023 incident. The top count carries a sentence of 15 years to life in prison.

It wasn’t immediately clear if he would be sentenced on Wednesday.
