(FOX40.COM) — The Lodi Unified School District is warning parents of a “Cat in the Hat” trend that has now been impacting the local community.
In a letter to families, officials said the social media trend involves AI-generated or digitally altered images, videos and accounts depicting a “threatening or unsettling version” of the “Cat in the Hat” character created by Dr. Seuss in his 1957 children’s book. Some posts have even referenced specific schools, communities, locations and people.
According to LUSD, there is no threat to any of the campuses and the posts have been determined to typically be hoaxes. Nevertheless, officials said that administrators and authorities take the reports seriously and will continue to work together on any reported incidents…
