Brentwood: Police Arrest Two In Stolen Car With Guns And Burglary Tools

Brentwood police arrested two people Sunday for allegedly having guns and burglary tools in a stolen car.

Police were called around 5 p.m. to the 8800 block of Brentwood Boulevard by someone who said they located their stolen car.

The alleged victim told police the car was occupied by two people.

Officers arrived and detained 41-year-old Michael VanBrusselen of Clayton and 58-year-old Kelly Katrones of Pittsburg.

Police determined the license plate affixed to the car belonged to a car registered to Katrones.

Officers searched the car and allegedly found a loaded shotgun, BB gun, and burglary tools, including a significant number of keys that were shaved down.

VanBrusselen and Katrones were arrested on suspicion of possessing a stolen car and burglary tools. VanBrusselen, who is a convicted felon also had an outstanding warrant, was also arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm and related charges.
