East-coast-raised Olympian Olivia Giaccio and Deer Valley, the Utah ski resort, have one thing in common: their moguls are phenomenal. The moguls at Deer Valley are, of course, made by skiers, making them extra-rhythmic and carved out for those beautiful zipper lines down the field.
And when you think about zipper lines, there’s really no one who comes to mind before Giaccio.
USA’s Jaelin Kauf (who is also an Olympian!) finished second.

Olivia isn’t just good at moguls, though. She’s stylish in the air, and she holds the record for being the first woman to attempt a cork 1080 in a World Cup competition.
Plus, Olivia is an all-around role model, not just for skiing: she attended Columbia University and actively supports various organizations such as the Share Winter Foundation, Harper for Kids, and her local food bank.
She holds a World Cup victory and a 6th place finish at the 2022 Olympics.
Mogul skiing is technically freestyle (which makes sense when you consider the one or two jumps that make up the most exciting part of the course) even though it’s a prescribed course and ski technique on snow matters.
