Vehicle goes up Highway 99 embankment and overturns, killing driver

(FOX40.COM) — A 40-year-old woman died Sunday morning after her vehicle overturned on Highway 99 near 47th Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A report of a single-vehicle crash on the highway came in around 4:25 a.m., the CHP said.

Investigators determined the vehicle was driving northbound, but are unsure of the lane or the speed.

The female driver lost control of the vehicle for an unknown reason and left the roadway, going up an embankment and overturning as a result, the CHP said.

The woman was ejected from the vehicle and died at the site of the crash, the agency said.
